We documented the special concert marking the 17th anniversary of TRT AVAZ and the Nevruz celebration in Ankara — a night that brought the music of the wider Turkic world to one stage. With performances by artists including Elif Avcı, Alisher Nazirov, Zamina Rahimova and the group Ay Yola, the concert celebrated a shared cultural heritage that reaches across borders.
A concert that crosses borders
Nevruz is celebrated across a vast region, and a concert marking it — with performers from different countries of the Turkic world — carries an audience far beyond Turkey. That international dimension makes strong documentation especially valuable: the content reaches communities across multiple countries who follow these artists and this celebration closely.
Capturing a lineup of performers from different traditions means adapting to each act, understanding the rhythm of the show, and framing every performance in a way that does justice to it.
Capturing the atmosphere of the night
A cultural anniversary concert is as much about feeling as it is about the performances. Our team worked to capture both: the artists on stage, the energy of the audience, and the sense of shared celebration that defined the night. Multi-camera coverage allowed us to move between wide shots that convey the scale of the event and close moments that capture individual performances.
An Ankara operation, delivered end to end
As with our other out-of-city projects, this concert was handled as a complete operation beyond Istanbul: photography, video production and editing, all coordinated on location in Ankara. Managing every stage ourselves ensured the night was documented as a cohesive whole.
What this project demonstrates
The TRT AVAZ Nevruz concert reflects our experience with culturally significant events that carry an international audience: adapting to a diverse lineup, capturing both performance and atmosphere, and delivering full coverage on location.
